Create Document Properties

The Document Properties feature in the content library allows Administrators to first define a set of colors for a document, and then apply them to a catalog item, page items, or shared document. Users who order the catalog item, page items, or shared document can choose a selection of colors defined and add them to the document.

Create Document Property

The Document Properties option is available in the Content Library drop-down menu.

In the Document Properties screen, click the "+ Create Document Properties" button.

First the Name of Description of the document property must be added to the Create Document Properties screen.

Click the "+ Add Field" button to select and add the colors that can be chosen in the document.

Name Description
Name

The name of the document property field.

Type Object is the type that is currently supported.
Description A description of the document property field.
Object Type Color is the object type that is currently supported.
Choose from the available object list below or search to narrow the list You can search for the object type by entering the name of the object in this field.
Available A list of object types (color) will be shown in this column. Move the requested ones into the selected column.
Selected The selected object types will be shown in this column.
Add Clicking Add will the configured field to the Document Property.

 

Click the Finish button to complete configuration of the fields in the document property. You can add additional fields as needed.

Your document property will now be shown in the Document Properties view.

Apply Document Property to Catalog Item

Now that the document property has been created and the colors added to the color panel in the document property, you can add it to a catalog item. Refer to the Document Properties in the Designer section for information on how to add a document property to a catalog item. Refer to the Designer section for additional information on configuring documents in designer.
